THE YOUNGEST KITER OF THE ISLAND …. And today, one of the youngest riders in the world …

His name is Javier Jimenez, he turned 8 years old last May, he measures 124 cm and weighs just 24 kilograms.
Pure Majorero and living in the town of La Oliva, going to school where every day he has become a good student. In his spare time, besides practicing kitesurfing he enjoys playing football for the local team in La Oliva.

His passion for kiteboarding has been passed down by his father who surfed from a very young age. From the age of five Javi began to fly kites on the sand and at seven for the first time in the sea with a kite to perform exercises such as bodydrag (kitesurf without the board) and earlier this year, thanks to the contribution of material from REDSHARK, began practicing with the board. In just two months Javi or Kaballito “as his friends know him from the beach, has undergone an impressive evolution, his jumps, his cries of anger when unable to perform any manoeuvres, and the happiness on his face when he finishes riding for the day has become the focus of all the spectators on the beaches while watching him practice.

His progress has been such that several first-tier brands such as North Kiteboarding and Animal have decided to sponsor him. The Council of La Oliva and Javi, whose collaborations have become the benchmark for all other children who want to start a sport as exciting and fun as Kitesurfing.
